U.S. Postal Service: Supporting Our Troops
Our troops work hard for us overseas. Far from home, few things brighten their days more than mail from friends and loved ones. Follow these guidelines so your letters and packages reach them intact! Or learn about other ways to support our troops.

Operation Hero Miles
The program allows troops stationed in Iraq or Afghanistan to fly home on leave for free.  It also gives family members of wounded servicemen and women free plane tickets to visit their loved ones recovering at military hospitals across the country.  Operation Hero Miles gives ordinary citizens an opportunity to help our troops in a very direct way that makes a real difference in their lives.

Operation Uplink-VFW
A unique program that keeps military personnel and hospitalized veterans in touch with their families and loved ones by providing them with a free phone card. Using contributions from supporters like you, Operation Uplink purchases phone cards and distributes them to servicemen and women who are separated from those they care about.

Cell Phones For Soldiers
This program was started in April of 2004 by thirteen year old Brittany Bergquist and her twelve year old brother Robbie of Norwell, Massachusetts.  After hearing a news report about a local soldier who ran up a massive phone bill calling home from Iraq, they decided they wanted to do something to help.

Operation Home Front
Protecting Our Reservists & National Guard Members.  Help protect our troops from the extreme summer heat by sending care packages through Operation Support Our Troops or visiting OperationHomeFront.org to find out other ways to help.

Blue Star Moms
We address our care packages to the deployed sons and daughters of families and friends who have contacted us. We send the care packages with a letter that asks the soldier to share the Blue Star Moms package with his or her unit.  As a support group for military mothers and families, Blue Star Moms undertakes sending care packages several times a year.

Soldier's Angels
The mission is to provide aide and comfort to any of the armed forces and their families. They have sent thousands of care packages to deployed soldiers, helped the wounded at three major military hospitals and aided many military families.

E-Mail Our Military (eMOM)
A free service providing a safe way for people to continue the tradition of "Any Service Member" mail with a much more personal touch - email! This is your opportunity to let America's military know how much you appreciate what they do on our behalf 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Operation Gratitude
Seeking to lift troops' morale, and bring a smile to their faces by sending care packages to service members overseas. Care packages contain food, toiletries, entertainment items and personal letters of appreciation, all wrapped with good wishes of love and support.

Operation ShoeBox
Our purpose is to encourage citizens to support their fighting men and women deployed overseas in these dangerous times.  Take time today to send a package. If you don't have a family member deployed overseas, check with your friends, colleagues, or church members to get the address of someone who is serving.

Any Soldier
You select one or more soldiers from the Where To Send page.  You will notice the Soldier's address includes the line, "ATTN: Any Soldier."  The Soldiers are volunteers for this effort, they will see the "Attn" line, and will put your letters and packages into the hands of Soldiers who don't get much or any mail.  This effort is 110% voluntary.

Treat Any Soldier
TreatAnySoldier is an effort to bring some of the comforts of home to our military men & women serving in the War on Terrorism.  Due to overwhelming requests for ready-made care packages on the AnySoldier.com site, I started a separate effort and designed care packages that I actually sent to my son while he was in Iraq and now Afghanistan.

America Supports You
Spotlighting what Americans are doing in support of the military, encouraging others to thank the troops and allowing others to tell their stories by giving voice and visibility to their efforts.

Books For Baghdad
Books for Baghdad is a Williamsport, Pennsylvania-based community project that has collected and mailed more than 6,000 books, of all genres and for all ages, to members of the U.S. Armed Forces in Iraq. The project, which began in March 2004, has received many letters of thanks from soldiers and even some special requests for titles.

The Legacy Project:  War Letters
Our mission is to honor America's veterans and active duty personnel by preserving their wartime letters.  We believe that these letters (and e-mails) help current generations and those to come better understand both the realities of warfare and the sacrifices made by the men and women who have served—or are now serving in the armed forces.

Operation First Response
Donate airline miles to our heroes and their families. It should be so easy for us to care for our heroes. If each of us gave a small gesture of kindness to them imagine the difference we could make. When our wounded say to us "What will I do now?" Please join me in saying "Take my hand and we will get through
this together and give hope to all that need it."

USO: United Service Organizations

The Armed Forces Foundation
Established to promote the morale, welfare, and quality of life of the United States armed forces community, including active duty military, reservists, and retired personnel and their families. Children of military personnel often miss out on participating in special activities with their parents while their father or mother is deployed in defense of our nation's security.
